A Walk 1080 Yify

In 1946 Springberry, Alabama, Dewey Cox accidentally chop his brother Nate in half with a machete. As a teenager, Dewey (John C. Reilly) gains local success but he's condemned for playing Satan music. His father kicks him out leaving with his 12 year old girlfriend Edith (Kristen Wiig). It's hard. It's a long, hard walk. He will Walk Hard. It's a fun mockbio. It's mostly sharp deadpan comedy. John C. Reilly is great. It spoofs all the big clichés. Judd Apatow and Jake Kasdan skewered the music bio genre with this script. It's just great and nothing is off limits. It's not over the top spoof like the Abrahams and Zucker or worst the Wayans. Reilly is playing Dewey Cox almost straight but just dumb. The ridiculous stuff happens to him. It may hit wrong for the audience because they're expecting wild ridiculous spoof. It's a little different than that.

In 1974, the French street juggler and equilibrist Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) decides to cross the towers of the World Trade Center walking on a tightrope. He travels from France to the USA with his girlfriend Annie (Charlotte Le Bon) and their friend and photographer Jean-Louis (Clément Sibony). They team-up with a small group of residents and plot a scheme to take their equipment to the roof of the building. Will Philippe make his dream come true? "The Walk" is a highly entertaining adventure based on a true story. The performances are great but the special effect of the crossing of Philippe is amazing. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "A Travessia" ("The Crossing")

In 1974, Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) with his accomplices stage a 'coup' to walk a high wire strung between the almost complete World Trade Towers. Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley) is his mentor. Annie Allix (Charlotte Le Bon) is his girlfriend. Jean-Louis is his anarchist photographer. Barry Greenhouse (Steve Valentine) is his inside man with an office in the North Tower. Jean-Pierre is a Frenchman in NY who brings along two locals. The small group pulls off the impossible.Robert Zemeckis delivers a straight timeline telling of this fascinating man's obsession. I would like a more imaginative use of a split timeline structure. The most compelling part of the walk is the caper to get in and the walk itself. It would be better to have that as the main timeline and flashback when needed. Joseph Gordon-Levitt along with everybody else do the french accent. It might bother some people. The wire walk can also bother people with vertigo. Nevertheless, the simple story is well told. The acting is solid. It has a bit of fun and plenty of excitement.

The film is based on the true story of Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who walked on a wire between the towers of the World Trade Center. We know the climax ending before it starts. The film flashes back to Paris and his childhood as we get glimpses of his training and the people who help him along. I didn't see it in 3D and I was a bit underwhelmed. The tightrope at Notre Dame seemed rather fake, looking like he was walking on a floor.Yes a French guy with some help, walked across the WTC.
