Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a Microsoft program to provide students with software design and development tools at no charge (similar programs to this used to include Microsoft Dreamspark and Microsoft IMAGINE). Microsoft software licensed under the Azure program is available for students and faculty that use this software for educational purposes. Previously students would need to be part of a STEM program and request an account for Microsoft Imagine/Dreamspark. This is no longer the case as Microsoft has changed their service. Now all students (not just STEM) have access to Azure for Students. There are instructions for how to access software in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching here. You can access your account here.

Language packs add additional display, help, and proofing tools to Microsoft 365. You can install additional language accessory packs after installing Microsoft 365. If a language accessory pack is described as having partial localization, some parts of Microsoft 365 may still display in the language of your copy of Microsoft 365.

If you're an administrator who has deployed a volume licensed version of Office 2016 to your users, you can download an ISO image of the language packs, language interface packs, and proofing tools from the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).

Select the version of Microsoft 365 you're using from the tabs below, then select the language desired from the drop-down list. Then choose the appropriate architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) from the download links provided. If you're not sure what you're using, see What version am I using?

If the language accessory pack includes proofing tools for that language, its status appears as Proofing installed. If the status is Proofing available, click the link to install the proofing tools.

You can change the default language for all your Microsoft 365 applications in the Set the Office Language Preferences dialog. For more information, see Add a language or set language preferences in Office.

A media access control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to a network interface controller (NIC) for use as a network address in communications within a network segment. This use is common in most IEEE 802 networking technologies, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Within the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) network model, MAC addresses are used in the medium access control protocol sublayer of the data link layer. As typically represented, MAC addresses are recognizable as six groups of two hexadecimal digits, separated by hyphens, colons, or without a separator.

Changing MAC addresses is necessary in network virtualization. In MAC spoofing, this is practiced in exploiting security vulnerabilities of a computer system. Some modern operating systems, such as Apple iOS and Android, especially in mobile devices, are designed to randomize the assignment of a MAC address to network interface when scanning for wireless access points to avert tracking systems.[18][19]

Using wireless access points in SSID-hidden mode (network cloaking), a mobile wireless device may not only disclose its own MAC address when traveling, but even the MAC addresses associated to SSIDs the device has already connected to, if they are configured to send these as part of probe request packets. Alternative modes to prevent this include configuring access points to be either in beacon-broadcasting mode or probe-response with SSID mode. In these modes, probe requests may be unnecessary or sent in broadcast mode without disclosing the identity of previously known networks.[30]

The latest advancements in Metal Ray Tracing mean less GPU time is spent building acceleration structures, work like culling can move to the GPU to reduce CPU overhead, and both intersection and shading can be optimized with direct access to primitive data.

The Accessible Instructional Materials (AIM) Center, part of the Bob Murphy Access Center (BMAC), is a technology and accessibility resource lab that provides support and services for students with disabilities, faculty, staff, and the campus community.

The AIM Center has an open access computer lab for students with disabilities registered with BMAC and provides alternative media and assistive technology support for students who qualify for these accommodations.

The Horn Center Open Computer Lab provides open access to PCs and Macs, collaboration/group meeting tables, study tables equipped with charging connections, and the Technology Help Desk for onsite technical assistance.

The lab is open to all CSULB students. Students may enter the lab and access any workstation at their convenience for any amount of time. However, at busy times of the year (around exams), reservations may be required onsite and time limitations may be imposed so that all students can access a computer. Please plan ahead for these eventualities.

The Spidell Technology Center is open to all CSULB students and provides access to PCS and Macs. There is an automated sign-up that assigns computers to users as workstations become available during busy periods. Computers are loaded with software, and some stations are especially set up for use with Zoom. The lab is available whenever the library is open.

The University Express Lab at the Student Success Center gives students quick access to computers and printers in a central campus location. The equipment includes 9 PC Workstations, 3 Apple iMacs, 2 Black White Printers.
